International Women’s Day 2022

It’s International Women’s Day on Tuesday 8 March – a day to celebrate the achievements of women and take steps to accelerate gender equality. This year the theme is #BreakTheBias, focusing on taking action to remove the bias which can make it difficult for women to move ahead.

At Energy Saving Trust, we are committed to addressing the climate emergency for everyone. We realise women and girls are disproportionately impacted by climate change and can be more vulnerable to fuel poverty. Internally, we’re committed to becoming a more diverse and inclusive organisation.

To celebrate International Women’s Day, we’re sharing stories from some of the inspirational women in our own organisation and highlighting how the work we do helps build a more equitable society, at home and internationally. We’ve also got a blog from our chief executive Mike Thornton, and hear from The Wildlife Trusts’ Kathryn Brown on female representation in the climate change sector.

You can follow our progress on our International Women’s Day campaign page, as well as TwitterFacebook and LinkedIn – and remember to join the conversation on social media through #IWD2022 and #BreakTheBias.
