Stonewater

Helping Stonewater find the most cost-effective solutions to improve its housing stock.

Challenge

Stonewater Housing Association is committed to helping its residents save money on their energy bills by improving the energy efficiency of their housing stock. With a target of raising the energy performance of the housing stock to a minimum SAP score of 69 / EPC band C, Stonewater contacted us for help to identify the most cost-effective solution.

Insight

Our comprehensive property database, Home Analytics, contains detailed data on each home in the UK drawn from multiple housing stock datasets. Our expert data analysts are able to analyse and model the data to gather insight on a local, regional or national level.

Action

We assessed the characteristics of each of Stonewater’s properties, combining their data with our comprehensive property database to define and model the energy efficiency of each property. We then applied our Portfolio Energy Assessment Tool to analyse potential retrofit strategies. This enabled us to model different investment scenarios to determine the most cost-effective means of raising all properties to EPC band C.

Result

This project has created a comprehensive database identifying all the characteristics of the properties that Stonewater owns across the UK. It has also provided a list of properties that need investment to reach EPC band C, as well as a list of the most cost-effective measures required for each property to meet this target.
