Successful applicants to the 2021/22 eBike Grant Fund were announced on 14 March 2022. The scheme is funded by Transport Scotland and delivered by Energy Saving Trust.
Local authorities, public sector agencies, further and higher education institutions, active travel hubs and community groups were invited to apply for funding to adopt ebikes, etrikes, ecargo bikes, cargo bikes and trailers, tandems, adapted cycles and trikes. To encourage uptake of the funded cycles, applicants could also apply for additional funding to support subsidised access to ebike hire/loan schemes for people with mobility issues, those on low income, jobseekers, modern apprentices, young people, and students.
So far, the 2021/22 round of funding has awarded £827,092 to 36 projects. In total, 216 ebikes, 56 ecargo bikes, 34 adapted cycles have been made available to Scotland’s communities through the fund.
