This consultation aimed to clarify Ofgem’s position on replacement generating equipment. It was published in response to Ofgem seeing increasing numbers of queries from Feed in Tariff (FIT) generators and industry stakeholders seeking clarity on how certain changes, repairs or replacement of generating equipment at accredited FIT installations may affect its accreditation.
Our response welcomed the publication of this consultation noting that it is important that the guidance about the replacement of generating equipment is as clear as possible. This will ensure that consumers do not inadvertently do something that results in the withdrawal of their installation’s FITs accreditation simply because the guidance was not as clear as it could be. However, it asked for greater clarification in the final guidance around some of the proposed guidance changes detailed.
