A comprehensive consultation from the UK Department for Business Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS), which considered the future policy for energy-related products now that the UK has left the EU.
The consultation covered issues such as quality standards, repairability, resource efficiency, energy labelling and more. We drew on our extensive experience in this area to set out a number of proposals and flag up some useful areas of interest.
We were eager for the UK Government to explore enhanced labelling (eg the addition of QR codes, repairability indexes, lifetime emissions, a ‘best in class’ element etc).
