Case study

Dawnfresh

Supporting Dawnfresh’s business success through employee engagement.

Challenge

Dawnfresh is one of the UK’s largest producers of fish and seafood, supplying UK retail and export markets. Supply chain companies are increasingly expected to adopt a triple bottom line in order to win contracts – considering people and planet as well as profit. As a supplier to Marks and Spencer, Dawnfresh was keen to improve its sustainability credentials.

Insight

Our employee engagement programmes focusing on energy efficiency and environmental issues teach new skills and contribute to staff development and business success.

Action

Through Home Energy Scotland, which we deliver for the Scottish Government, we devised an interactive programme of events to engage employees on energy saving, water efficiency, renewable energy and transport.

Result

Sixty employees attended the workshops.

“A huge thank you to Home Energy Scotland for making the experience enjoyable and memorable. The support provided was also key to us winning the Marks and Spencer Best Environment Week Campaign for a Group award.”

Steven Cassidy, group EHS manager at Dawnfresh
