The Scottish Home Renewables service, funded by the Scottish Government, is delivered through Home Energy Scotland.

The service supports householders in Scotland looking to make their homes more efficient by installing renewable energy systems, energy storage or solid wall insulation. Through specialist advice, home visits and tailored reports, householders are supported through the process from decision-making to installation and beyond.

We offer grants and interest-free loans for renewable heat through the Home Energy Scotland Grant and Loan, managed on behalf of the Scottish Government.

We have several online tools to help householders take control of their energy use and see if they can make savings in their home. These include:

  • the Home Renewables Selector which helps homeowners find out which renewables might be suitable for their property
  • the Green Homes Network where you can view case studies from homeowners who have been through the process of installing renewables and want to share their experience
  • the Renewables Installer Finder to help you research MCS-certified installers in your area. We welcome all accredited installers to register on the Renewables Installer Finder so consumers can easily find your business.
