EV charge point funding for rural and island areas

If you live or work in a rural or island area in Scotland, you may be able to get funding to install EV charge points.

Everyone should be able to benefit from cleaner transport. But rural and island communities risk being left behind, as private investment can be limited in these areas.

That’s why Transport Scotland is funding electric vehicle (EV) charge points in these areas – making it easier for people to switch, wherever they live.

This funding supports the Scottish Government’s commitment to deliver 24,000 additional public charge points by 2030. It will help ensure the shift to electric vehicles is fair, inclusive and aligned with Scotland’s Just Transition principles.
