Brian Horne

Technial Knowledge Lead

I’ve been working in sustainable energy advice and consultancy for over 35 years, and at Energy Saving Trust for the past 15 years. I originally studied engineering but ended up with a communications degree, then moved into the energy world, managing advice services and consultancy programmes for a number of energy agencies.

As Technical Knowledge Lead I am responsible for ensuring the advice content across all our services is correct, supported by evidence and appropriate for the intended user. I also provide technical input into our commercial consultancy work, and manage a team of colleagues working to ensure subject matter knowledge is managed appropriately and effectively.

I have a lifelong passion for building a society that is environmentally and socially sustainable, and when I am not working towards that as my job I take the time to enjoy the environment and the people around me, wherever I may go. I particularly enjoy getting to know independent wine growers across Europe, sampling their produce and snapping up bargains when I find them.
