Brian Horne

Technical Knowledge Lead (former)

Brian worked in sustainable energy advice and consultancy for over 35 years, and at Energy Saving Trust for 15 years. He originally studied engineering but ended up with a communications degree, then moved into the energy world, managing advice services and consultancy programmes for a number of energy agencies.

As Technical Knowledge Lead Brian was responsible for ensuring the advice content across all our services was correct, supported by evidence and appropriate for the intended user. He also provided technical input into our commercial consultancy work, and managed a team of colleagues working to ensure subject matter knowledge was managed appropriately and effectively.

Brian has a lifelong passion for building a society that’s environmentally and socially sustainable, and when he’s not working towards that as his job he takes the time to enjoy the environment and the people around him, wherever he may go. He particularly enjoys getting to know independent wine growers across Europe, sampling their produce and snapping up bargains when he finds them.
