Michael’s switch to an electric car

Michael came across the loan while looking into grants for EVs. “Energy Saving Trust’s website was really clear and easy to follow, so I quickly understood how the funding worked,” he said. 

The application process was smooth, but Michael suggests working with dealerships that know about the loan. His local dealership in Falkirk helped make the process stress-free. 

For Michael, range and efficiency were the most important factors when choosing his EV. After weighing up his options, he went with the Hyundai Kona EV, which he thought offered the best value for money. 

Switching to an EV fit perfectly with Michael’s personal values and professional experience. On top of helping the environment, he’s noticed major savings on fuel and maintenance. “It feels great to know we’re making a positive impact on the planet,” he said. 

Michael is also planning to install a home charging station soon, which he expects will cut costs even more and make owning an EV even easier. 

Michael’s advice to anyone considering an EV? “Go for it! It’s such a simple way to make a real difference, and with the interest-free loan from the Scottish Government, it’s super affordable.”
