Case study

Sidey

Sidey is an experienced fenestration specialist that has been manufacturing and installing products for 87 years.

Challenge

To ensure that their products are tested and meet high energy performance standards, Sidey chose Energy Saving Trust’s impartial and reliable product endorsement service to help build assurance in their products’ performance among their customers.

Action

Sidey has worked with Energy Saving Trust for several years, allowing them to stay ahead of all the latest market requirements and provide their customers with confirmation that their products offer the best in energy performance and efficiency.

Energy Saving Trust endorsement service checks that products meet industry agreed energy performance criteria and UK regulatory requirements, as well as our own energy efficiency standards.

“Our experience with Energy Saving Trust has been a positive one and one that has not only benefited us but has benefited our customers. At the heart of Sidey are our customers and the fact Energy Saving Trust work and grow with clients to meet the ever-changing market requirements, provides our customers with affirmation and a range of benefits. Product endorsement is a service that Sidey would not hesitate to recommend,” said Robert Fitzpatrick, business accreditations and HSQE manager at Sidey.

Result

Impartial and trusted endorsement from a recognised organisation such as Energy Saving Trust allows Sidey to provide their customers with further proof of the high energy efficiency performance of their endorsed products.

As a result, Sidey’s endorsed products are listed on the Energy Saving Trust Register, our searchable online database that highlights equipment and technologies to customers and businesses looking for energy saving appliances.

They also have access to the Energy Saving Trust Endorsed brandmark to highlight that their products meet our standards and have been endorsed by us.

“Providing our customers with high performing products is top of our agenda and we continually strive to develop our product offering so we can continue to do just that.” Robert Fitzpatrick, business accreditations and HSQE manager Sidey

Sustainability

Sidey has been implementing a sustainability and energy efficiency programme in their products, through operating lean manufacturing processes and continually looking to suppliers to use ethically sourced and recycled materials.

This approach has allowed them to have zero waste to landfill through manufacturing processes and a very high level of site waste recycling reuse. They also hold BSI WER kitemark for a full range of products and have an ISO 14001 2015 certification.
