A 2022 survey by IBM found that:

• Purpose-driven consumers, who choose products and brands based on how well they align with their values, now represent 44% of consumers.

A 2023 report by Morgan Stanley found that interest in sustainable investing is already high and continuing to grow:

• 77% of global investors are interested in sustainable investing, and 54% anticipate increasing their sustainable investments in the next year.
• 70% of investors believe strong environmental, social, and governance practices can deliver higher financial returns.

Employees are increasingly choosing to work for companies that value the environment, and where they can have a positive impact on climate change.

One in four people say sustainability is one of their top non-negotiables when evaluating a company’s culture and values for a new job.

The first step towards reducing your greenhouse gas emissions is to measure and understand your impact through a full emissions inventory.

After measuring your emissions, you need to develop your organisation’s strategic plan. This involves establishing your science-based targets in alignment with the Paris Agreement and the actions you’ll take to achieve them.

The third step is to start following your plan and reducing your emissions in line with your targets.

• Show measurable targets and clear plans for reducing emissions.
