The factored development charge point grant is funded by Transport Scotland and managed by Energy Saving Trust.
Funding is available to help households living in factored developments install electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure.
The grant can cover up to 100% of the purchase and installation costs, up to a maximum of £20,000 per project.
We accept applications from property managers or factors who manage communal parking for residential properties in Scotland.
Before applying, check the eligibility criteria and make sure you have the consent and authority required from property owners.
Who can apply?
We accept applications from property managers or factors who manage communal parking for residential properties in Scotland.
This includes organisations representing the interests of owners of residential properties in Scotland with private communal parking facilities, such as housing associations, retirement communities and student halls.
All applicant organisations must have consent and authority to apply for funding from the owners of the property where installation of funded charge points will take place.
How much funding is available?
The grant can cover up to 100% of the purchase and installation costs, up to a maximum of £20,000 per project.
Payment terms are between you and your installer. However, we don’t recommend paying until the charge point has been installed. We will only reimburse you after installation has been completed and commissioned.
To be eligible for funding, your installer must be deemed eligible by Energy Saving Trust and by OZEV.

From application to appearing on our list, our onboarding process can take up to 15 working days.
You’ll receive a decision on your application within 8 working days.
If your application is approved, we’ll email you a grant offer letter, including instructions to claim your funds.
After you have received the grant offer, you can arrange the installation of the charge point. Don’t start the installation until after you have received the grant offer.
Once the installation is complete, you’ll get an invoice and electric installation certificate (EIC) from your installer.
Once you have your paid invoice and EIC ready, you’ll email these to us.
We aim to process claims within 8 working days. Assuming there are no delays due to missing or inaccurate information in your claim, your payment will be made within 10 working days.
The OZEV grant provides a contribution towards the cost of installing electric vehicle charge points, with funding of up to £500 available per socket.
If you’re eligible, please apply for the OZEV grant alongside our funding to maximise the support available to you.
All installers appointed through our programme are OZEV-approved. Please inform your installer of your intention to apply for OZEV funding alongside our funding.
Terms and conditions
We are authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority. This fund is subject to availability and terms and conditions apply.
Grants are offered on a first come, first served basis and are only available while there is enough funding. The grant may close, without notice, at any time within the 2026/27 financial year. If you apply while the grant is still open, there is no guarantee you will get an offer.
