Scottish Water is working in partnership with Home Energy Scotland, delivered by Energy Saving Trust, to help people who live and work in Scotland to use water wisely, and save energy and money.
With more people using water every day in Scotland and the risk of prolonged dry spells increasing, it’s important to promote the benefits of using water wisely, which will also help protect future water supplies and keep more water in the natural environment. Typically, around one fifth of a household’s energy bill relates to heating water in the home, so by using water wisely, householders can also save energy and money on their energy bills.
To help, Home Energy Scotland is working with Scottish Water to distribute free water efficiency packs to householders throughout Scotland. Our Home Energy Scotland advisors speak to householders at events and over the phone, giving them free water saving advice and devices, which can help an average family save thousands of litres of water and up to £100 each year on their energy bills.
