On-street residential chargepoint scheme

The on-street residential chargepoint scheme (ORCS) provided grant funding between 2017-2024 to local authorities to install residential chargepoints.

ORCS is now closed to new applications. Ongoing projects must be completed by March 2025.

Relevant authorities in England are eligible to receive funding through the local electric vehicle infrastructure (LEVI) fund.

Claims assistance

Once all chargepoints are installed, you need to submit a claim to onstreetchargepoints@est.org.uk with the following:

  • claim form (see below).
  • monitoring log.
  • confirmation that the chargepoints are on the National Chargepoint Registry (NCR) via a data download with ORCS chargepoints highlighted
  • a copy of all invoices with a detailed breakdown of all eligible project costs. See our model CPO invoice. The claim must account for 100% of project costs, not only the remaining 25% grant funding the local authority has yet to receive.

All capital costs associated with the installations must be individually evidenced and broken down by cost type. If the total project costs are less than the 75% paid in advance, you will be required to reimburse DfT.  All claims must be submitted by the end of this financial year (FY 24-25).

For more information on claiming, please see our claims guidance and short guidance videos:

For more information on claiming, please see our ORCS claims guidance.
