We manage the Scottish Home Renewables service, funded by the Scottish Government and delivered through Home Energy Scotland.
The service supports householders in Scotland looking to make their homes more efficient by installing renewable energy systems, energy storage or solid wall insulation. Through specialist advice, home visits and tailored reports, householders are supported through the process from decision-making to installation and beyond.
We offer interest-free funding for renewables through the Home Energy Scotland loan, managed on behalf of the Scottish Government, and advice on accessing government incentives like the Renewable Heat Incentive.
We have several online tools to help householders take control of their energy use and see if they can make savings in their home. These include the Green Homes Network where you can view case studies from homeowners who have been through the process of installing renewables and want to share their experience; and the Renewables Installer Finder to help you find a certified installer.
Our Discover Renewables campaign encourages homeowners to join thousands of households across the country and choose clean, renewable energy.
We deliver a range of transport programmes on behalf of Scottish Government which provide advice and support to commercial fleets, the public sector and directly to consumers Our programmes aim to encourage sustainable and active travel, support the use of electric vehicles and help commercial suppliers to reduce carbon emissions and improve air quality.

Scottish Water is working in partnership with Home Energy Scotland, delivered by Energy Saving Trust, to help people who live and work in Scotland to use water wisely, and save energy and money.
With more people using water every day in Scotland and the risk of prolonged dry spells increasing, it’s important to promote the benefits of using water wisely, which will also help protect future water supplies and keep more water in natural environment. Typically, around a fifth of a household’s energy bill relates to heating water in the home, so by using water wisely householders can also save energy and money on their energy bills too.
To help, Home Energy Scotland is working with Scottish Water to distribute free water efficiency packs to householders throughout Scotland. Our Home Energy Scotland advisors speak to house holders at events and over the phone, giving them free water saving advice and devices which can help an average family save thousands of litres of water and up to £100 each year from their energy bill.
The Scottish Government’s district heating loan fund is designed to help address the financial and technical barriers to district heating projects
We manage the fund on behalf of the Government and support scheme take up and implementation. Since 2011, more than £15M has been lent to 50 different projects across Scotland. These projects have generated benefits such as providing affordable warmth to householders, creating local employment, reducing costs for businesses and reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
